The Grambling State Tigers have released their 2019 football schedule, which includes games at ULM and Louisiana Tech.

“We are looking forward to the upcoming season,” Grambling State head coach Broderick Fobbs said. “I am excited about the 2019 schedule and the steps that our program will be taking with this challenging slate. We have the opportunity to open the season with a member of the Sun Belt Conference for the second consecutive season and will also play a member of Conference USA. Not only are we looking forward to the two in-state opponents, we are also thrilled for an opportunity to play nine schools from this outstanding conference.”

Grambling State will open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the ULM Warhawks. The following week on Sept. 7, Grambling travels to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The Tigers will play an opponent at home on Sept. 14 that remains to be announced.

Grambling State travels to Montgomery to take on the Alabama State Hornets on Sept. 21. The Tigers then head to Dallas to play the Prairie View A&M Panthers in the State Fair Classic at the Cotton Bowl on Sept. 28.

Next, Grambling travels to face the Jackson State Tigers on Oct. 5. The Tigers finally play their first home contest of the season at Eddie Robinson Stadium on Oct. 12 against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs (High School Day). Both Jackson State and Alabama A&M will be non-conference contests.

After their second off week, Grambling hits the road to face the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Oct. 26. Grambling then returns home to host back-to-back contests against the Texas Southern Tigers on Nov. 2 (Homecoming) and the Alcorn State Braves on Nov. 9 (Senior Day).

Grambling heads out to face the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Nov. 16. After their third off week, Grambling State closes out the season against the Southern Jaguars in the 46th Annual Bayou Classic at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Nov. 30.

The 2019 SWAC Championship Game is tentatively set for Saturday, Dec. 7. The game will be played between the East and West Division winners.

Grambling has won 26 conference championships with the last coming in 2017. The Tigers also claim 16 Black College Football National Championships.
