The Austin Peay Governors have officially announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes six games at Fortera Stadium.
Austin Peay will open the 2019 season with back-to-back contests at home in Fortera Stadium in Clarkesville, Tennessee, against the North Carolina Central Eagles on Saturday, Aug. 31, followed by the Central Arkansas Bears on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Governors then hit the road for back-to-back contests. Austin Peay takes on the Mercer Bears on Sept. 14 followed by the East Tennessee State Buccaneers on Sept. 28. The Govs then return home to open up Ohio Valley Conference play against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Sept. 28.
Austin Peay then has their only open date of the season on Oct. 5.
The Southeast Missouri State RedHawks visit Fortera Stadium on Oct. 12 before Austin Peay hits the road for three consecutive road games. The Governors will play at the Tennessee State Tigers on Oct. 19, at the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Oct. 26, and at the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Nov. 2.
Austin Peay returns home from their three-game road trip to host the UT Martin Skyhawks on Nov. 9. The Governors then play at the Murray State Racers on Nov. 16 before closing out the regular-season at home against the Eastern Illinois Panthers on Nov. 23.
The 2019 season will be the first for Austin Peay under new head coach Mark Hudspeth. Hudspeth took over the Governors’ program after spending the 2018 season as associate head coach and tight ends coach at Mississippi State.
