The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have added the Villanova Wildcats to their 2020 football schedule, the school announced on Wednesday.
Wake Forest will host Villanova at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Sept. 19, 2020. The game will be the fifth overall meeting between the two schools.
Wake Forest and Villanova first met in 1952 in Philadelphia. The Demon Deacons won the most recent meeting 31-11 in 1988 to tie the series at two games apiece.
Villanova is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Wildcats finished the 2017 season 5-6 overall and 3-5 in CAA play.
Wake Forest added Villanova to their 2020 football schedule after the Tulane Green Wave postponed their visit to Winston-Salem from 2020 to Sept. 18, 2027. Wake’s home game against Old Dominion in 2020 has also been moved from Sept 19 to Sept. 5.
The Demon Deacons other two non-conference opponents in 2020 are Appalachian State at home on Sept. 12 and Notre Dame at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 26.
In ACC play in 2020, Wake Forest is scheduled to host Boston College, Clemson, Syracuse, and Miami (FL) and travel to Florida State, Louisville, NC State, and Duke.
Not a fan of these FBS vs FCS football games. Villy has been a great FCS but really Wake Forrest, go play App State again instead.
