ESPN has landed the rights to broadcast the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) from 2011 through 2014, the network announced today. The contract includes exclusive rights to television, radio and marketing for the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls and the BCS Title Game.
The contract runs from 2011-2014 for the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls and from 2011-2013 for the BCS Title Game. The Rose Bowl, which is under a separate contract with ABC, will host the BCS Title Game in 2014.
In August, ESPN signed a 15-year deal with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to televise college sporting events such as football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. The deal was reported to be worth over $2 billion.
