The Idaho Vandals will play at the Washington State Cougars in 2025, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Idaho will travel to take on Washington State at Martin Stadium in Pullman on August 30, 2025. The Vandals will receive a $625,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from the University of Idaho via a state public records request.

The two schools are also scheduled to meet in Pullman on Sept. 19, 2020. That game contract was agreed to in August of 2016 and states that the Vandals will receive a $550,000 guarantee.

Washington State and Idaho have a long history on the gridiron. The two schools first met in 1894 and have played a total of 92 games. The Cougars won the most recent meeting 56-6 in 2016 to extend their lead in the series to 72-17-3.

Washington State now has two non-conference games scheduled for the 2025 season. The week after hosting Idaho, the Cougars are scheduled to play San Diego State in Pullman (Sept. 6).

Idaho will officially drop down to the Football Championship Subdivision this summer and will compete in the Big Sky Conference. The Vandals, along with New Mexico State, did not have their membership in the Sun Belt Conference renewed after the 2017 season.

Washington State is the first scheduled non-conference game for the Idaho Vandals in 2025.

The public records request to Idaho also revealed the addition of three future home games against NCAA Division II opponents:

  • Western New Mexico – Sept. 8, 2018
  • Central Washington – Sept. 7, 2019
  • Western Oregon – Sept. 5, 2020
