The Fresno State Bulldogs have added future football games at Texas A&M in 2020 and at Arizona State in 2023, the school announced today.
Fresno State will travel to College Station, Texas to take on the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field on Sept. 26, 2020. In their first and only meeting back in 2007, the Aggies defeated the Bulldogs 47-45 in College Station.
On Sept. 16, 2023, Fresno State will travel to play Arizona State at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. Fresno State is 0-3 against Arizona State all-time, but the two schools haven’t met since 1941.
“These games offer Fresno State the continued opportunity to showcase Bulldog football across the country against elite competition,” Fresno State Director of Athletics Jim Bartko said. “They reflect our scheduling philosophy to create opportunities to produce necessary income and bring long-term consistency in our scheduling model.”
Yesterday, we reported that Fresno State had signed a contract to play at Oregon on Sept. 4, 2021. The Bulldogs listed that game today in their Texas A&M-Arizona State release.
Fresno State’s future non-conference football schedule is complete through the 2018 season and includes several other top opponents — at Nebraska (2016), at Alabama (2017), at Washington (2017), vs. BYU (2017), and at UCLA (2018 & 2021).
Texas A&M’s 2020 non-conference schedule is tentatively complete with the addition of Fresno State. The Aggies are also slated to host North Texas (Sept. 12), Colorado (Sept. 19), and Abilene Christian (Nov. 21).
The addition of Fresno State gives Arizona State two non-conference games in 2023. The Sun Devils are also scheduled to travel to LSU on Sept. 9.
“We are excited to be able to announce this football game with Fresno State ” Vice President for ASU Athletics Ray Anderson said. “It is with great excitement that we renew a matchup with one of the strongest football programs on the West Coast. We believe our fan base will enjoy this matchup.”
