The Kansas State Wildcats have added the South Dakota Coyotes to their 2018 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Kansas State will host South Dakota at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan in their season-opener on Sept. 1, 2018. K-State will pay USD a $425,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained via an open records request.
South Dakota is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Coyotes finished the 2015 season 5-6 overall and 3-5 in the MVFC.
The addition of South Dakota tentatively completes Kansas State’s non-conference football schedule for the 2018 season. The Wildcats also host Mississippi State on Sept. 8 and UTSA on Sept 15.
Kansas State’s non-conference schedules are also filled for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. K-State needs one additional game for both 2019 and 2020 and two games in 2021.

since K State is not an SEC school I guess this is ok. Right SEC Haters like Jinzo?
The difference between KSU’s schedule and the SEC’s schedule is that KSU plays 10 power 5 games (9 conference, 1 P5 non-conference). That’s why people won’t hate on them.
Does that make sense?
Guess what, Alabama will play 10 Power 5 teams that year too, if they win the SEC.
Does that make sense?
Even better, this year Bama played *12* games against P5’s. 9 of them were SEC games. And they beat Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Clemson out of conference. Anyone else got anything close to that? I didn’t think so. Go home S-E-C-nis envy whiners.
No one is talking about just Alabama!!!!! Alabama was without a doubt the best team in the country this year. They played great. GREAT! Now moving on to my point…
If you want to play that game and USC wins the Pac-12 and CFP, they will have played 14 Power 5 games. (Pac12 championship and 2 CFP).
Take away the championship game, and you see the inherent benefit to teams playing less P5 games. If the SEC plays 1 more week of conference game, then they will have 7 more losses. That is a fact. It is indisputable.
I think K-State will take this game more serious than the NDSU game in 2014….
*correction 2013, my friend. And I doubt they will since they beat USD by like 38-0 this past season. USD is not automatically NDSU just because the coyotes pulled the upset against the bison this year.
Though you could play fcs any more.
What a joke. In 2018 Florida hosts Idaho, why not have FL v KSU instead. LSU plays UT-Chattanooga, could have LSU v KSU. Cal or Washington could play KSU instead of a FCS opponent, etc.
