The Indiana Hoosiers have completed their non-conference football schedule through the 2023 season, the school announced on Thursday.
Opponents added to their schedules recently include Idaho, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, and UMass.
Indiana will host Idaho at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington on Oct. 2, 2021 and again on Sept. 17, 2022. The Hoosiers will also host Charlotte on Oct. 1, 2022 and Sept. 23, 2023.
IU has also added single home games against Georgia Southern on Sept. 23, 2017 and UMass on Sept. 9, 2023.
“We know many of our fans plan trips and weddings around our home football games,” said Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass. “We have been working hard to get our non-conference schedule set for the next eight years to help with these plans. While it is challenging to meet our goal of having no more than five true road games given the Big Ten scheduling guidelines and the marketplace, we are pleased that these non-conference games will enable us to generally meet that goal.”

No more FCS, but why no OOC P5’s in ’19, ’20, ’21, or ’22? Wasn’t the B1G tooting its horn so much about having all these OOC P5’s? Cred to Indiana for picking up Louisville in the next decade… but WFU and UVa makes for a fairly lame schedule. They beat Mizzou, after all, so they should be playing Kentucky not Directional Kentucky.
Indiana is not a powerhouse clearly so they wont be able to get home-and-home series with much programs. Also, it takes two to tango maybe UK didn’t want to play Indiana in a series, not saying they are afraid of IU.

BYU surely would give Indiana an October or November home and home any year they want. In 2019, IU has Oct 9 and Nov 5 open and the Big 10 has not scheduled 2020-2022.
Would love to here a statement on why Indiana is not following the mandate to play a P5 in several years. They are following the no FCS mandate.
Indiana is a program that has gone nowhere for the past 45 years and will most likely go nowhere for the next 45 years. October 15th will see the start of men’s basketball practice at which point Indiana fans if they have not done so already will shift their focus from football to basketball
I’d say they have a balanced OOC schedule. They have 1 big name school, 1 decent G5 team, and a cupcake for each of the next 6 or so seasons.

Wake, UVA are likely losses for IU. UConn they are favored, Cincy is a toss up most years.
sorry. I don’t see a game here that I would need to plan my wedding around. what a lame comment. however– I am a Mizzou guy and that loss still looks horrible as does playing road games last year at Toledo, this year at Arkansas State and future dates at Wyoming and Middle Tennessee State (a DIRECTIONAL school). A “SEC” team doesn’t have to agree to those . . .
Mizzou will be glad to see Toledo knocking off Arkansas. And playing in the heart of Tennessee is a smart move for recruiting. Mizzou’s strong academics and their mastery of the SEC East…. plenty of cred.
Maybe the folks at Indiana and the Big Ten expect Cincy and UConn to be in Power 5 Conferences by the time those games are played.
For all those saying that IU doesn’t play a power 5 team in those years, the BIG came out with a list of about 10 teams in which you could play instead of a P5 team. This list includes teams like Notre Dame and BYU. Cincinnati and UCONN were included so IU is meeting the BIG’s standards
