The Mountain West Conference has announced that nine football games in 2015 have been moved to Friday nights for television. Each broadcast will be televised by either CBS Sports Network or one of three ESPN Networks.
Two contests, Colorado-Hawaii and Nevada-Fresno State, will be played on Thursday nights.

Wow what a late start for that BYU/SJSU game. I don’t think there’s ever been a game that late here in the Bay Area. I found out its because of Rice/UTEP the same day, but CBSSN could’ve pushed that start time up to 4 or 4:30 PT, and the BYU/SJSU game could start at a more reasonable time like 7:30 or 8 PT.
Am I missing something? Boise State – San Jose State starts at 12:30 p.m. That’s 30 minutes past noon. Not late at all.
Nevermind. You said BYU. I see your point.
Evan was talking about the BYU vs SJSU game… 830PM PT start time. As in 10:30 Central and 11:30PM Eastern.
Mods or anyone who knows a lot of info about past schedules – what is the record for most non-Saturday games played in a single season? Boise is now playing 6 non-Saturday games… has to be pushing a record.
Don’t know, we don’t keep any kind of records like that.
I am not certain what the record is; but I remember hearing that Louisville played 6 back in the Big East days. Whatever the record is, I am sure it will be a team that dominated a Conference they were over-qualified for. People want to see Boise on TV, but they are too loyal to their own local teams and conferences to tune in on a Saturday when there are more desirable games on the other networks.
Also of note, the Colorado @ Hawaii game is played at 11pm in Colorado!
Nope Colorado/Hawaii is at 10 PM MDT. Not 11 PM.
Colorado @ Hawaii is at 7 PM HT. Hawaii does not observe DST, and therefore Colorado is 4 hrs ahead of HI during the summer. Therefore it is an 11 Pm CO start. Last year, it was an 8 AM start in Hawaii for HI @ CO (12 PM MT)
How do the High Schools in the Boise area feel about 4 Friday night games on TV (with three of them at home) by Boise St?
The high schools are hurt by the invasion by college football on Friday nights . Nothing is sacred any more and money rules all.
Seems like the MWC is still trying to get revenge on BYU for leaving the conference.
How on earth does that follow. More like good riddance isn’t it?
Da dweebs the bsu san jose state is played the friday after thanksgiving. People will be home watching.
San Jose should be able draw 20,000 fans to this game with the majority from Boise. Unfortunately San Jose State has less fan support than most good Texas high schools.
