The Texas Tech Red Raiders have added the Texas State Bobcats to their 2030 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game agreement between the two schools was obtained from Texas Tech University through a Texas Public Information Act request.
Texas Tech will host Texas State at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on September 14, 2030. The Red Raiders will pay the Bobcats a $1.2 million guarantee for the matchup, according to the agreement.
Texas Tech and Texas State have met three times, beginning in 2011. The Red Raiders have won all three contests, including a 33–7 victory in their most recent meeting in 2013.
Texas Tech is slated to open the 2030 season in the Vegas Kickoff Classic against Arkansas at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (Aug. 29–Sept. 1). The Red Raiders then begin their home slate on Saturday, Sept. 7, when they host Fresno State at Galaxy Stadium.
The Big 12 has not yet announced conference opponents for the 2030 season, but Texas Tech is expected to play five league games at home and four on the road.
Texas State opens its 2030 season on the road at North Texas on Aug. 31. The Bobcats return to San Marcos to host UTSA on Sept. 7 and, after their trip to Lubbock, close out their all‑Texas non‑conference slate by welcoming UTRGV on Sept. 21.
