The Washington Huskies have added the Montana Grizzlies to their 2017 football schedule, UW announced on Friday.
Washington will host Montana at Husky Stadium on September 2, 2017. It will mark the 18th time that the Grizzlies have traveled to Seattle.
The Huskies lead the overall series 16-1-1, but the two schools haven’t met since 1951. Montana won the very first game of the series in 1920, and also tied Washington in 1929. Their first and only meeting in Missoula was back in 1927.
Playing an FCS team is rare for Washington as of late. UW hosts Portland State this season, which is only their third match-up against a lower division team since 1971.
But the addition of Montana gives the Huskies four FCS teams on their future schedules. Also traveling to Husky Stadium are Idaho State (2013), Eastern Washington (2014), and Sacramento State (2015).
Montana is the first scheduled game for Washington for the 2017 season. The Huskies were previously slated to host Wisconsin, but that game was moved to the 2018 season.
Washington opens the 2012 season vs. San Diego State at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. Their 2012 schedule is ranked as the 6th toughest in the nation by Phil Steele.

Yes, look at every team schedule, all excluding a select few play div1aa games. A lot of schools even play 2 per year.
