The Texas Longhorns at Kansas Jayhawks football game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21 has been postponed, the Big 12 announced on Wednesday.
The game was postponed due to “…KU’s inability to meet the minimum position requirements established by the Big 12 Conference.”
The position group affected has a combination of injuries and contact tracing. Since Nov. 8, the KU football program has performed 825 COVID-19 tests with five returning positive on different testing days during that time span.
The Texas at Kansas football game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12. Kickoff time and television coverage will be announced at a later date.
Texas is 5-2 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 action this season. The Longhorns are next scheduled to play on Friday, Nov. 27 at home against the 17th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones. The game will be televised by ABC at 12:00pm ET.
Kansas (0-7, 0-6 Big 12) will now be off on consecutive weekends following their open date last Saturday. The Jayhawks are slated to return to the gridiron on Saturday, Nov. 28 at home against the TCU Horned Frogs. The game is scheduled for 8:00pm ET and will be televised by FS1.
Football Schedules
Kevin,
Is it worth an article to let us know what % of games are being canceled each week of this football season? The headlines sure make it seem that cancellations are climbing, but there are more games scheduled now.
Be kind of nice to know they are playing 80% or 90% of games each week.
