The Florida A&M Rattlers have announced their 2020 football schedule, which features a game at UCF.
Florida A&M will kick off the 2020 season in the Orange Blossom Classic against Albany State at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. The game will be played on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 7:00pm ET.
“We’re very excited about the release of our 2020 football schedule,” Florida A&M head coach Willie Simmons said. “Starting the season with the renewing of the Orange Blossom Classic in Miami Gardens and ending the regular season in Orlando with the Florida Blue Florida Classic, this year’s slate is packed with quality opponents. Another bonus is that the best fans in the nation will get to visit some great cities.”
On Saturday, Sept. 12, Florida A&M travels to take on Southern. The Rattlers then open their home schedule at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla., with back-to-back Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) games against South Carolina State (Sept. 19) and Norfolk State (Sept. 26).
Florida A&M returns to the road for two consecutive games with an open date sandwiched in-between — Oct. 3 at North Carolina Central, Oct. 10 Off, and Oct. 17 at North Carolina A&T.
The Rattlers return to Tallahassee to host Morgan State on Oct. 24, which is their Homecoming weekend and last of only three games on campus next season.
Florida A&M closes out October on Halloween (Oct. 31) with a road trip at Delaware State. Florida A&M then travels for two more road games, at UCF on Nov. 7 and at Howard on Nov. 14.
FAMU closes out their 2020 regular-season schedule on Nov. 21 against Bethune-Cookman in the Florida Blue Florida Classic at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
“We’re excited to announce the 2020 much-anticipated football schedule, and about the product we know we will put on the football field, coming off a Black College Football National Championship and a 9-2 record,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Kortne Gosha said. “We know coach (Willie) Simmons has reloaded and obviously our football home games, and all of our games, will be a sight to see. One of things I really wanted to point out to our fan base, our students and donors, is that we have three home games. However, six of our games are in the state of Florida. We will be playing in the Orange Blossom Classic against Albany State and it will be a great opportunity for our university and our football program. That game, we will be able to walk away with $325,000 game-guarantee, with all expenses paid for our teams and guarantee for the Marching 100. Additionally, we are participating in the return game to Baton Rouge (La.) to play Southern University in week two. For the past two seasons we have been fortunate to have six home games and as we move forward our administration will work to find a balance to offer fans, supporters and donors more than three home games in the future.
