The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have added the Austin Peay Governors to their 2025 football schedule, the school announced on Thursday.
Middle Tennessee will host Austin Peay at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Sept. 13, 2025. The game will mark the 54th overall meeting between the two schools.
Middle Tennessee, a member of Conference USA, and Austin Peay, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), first met on the gridiron in 1936. In their most recent meeting in 2010, the Blue Raiders defeated the Governors 56-33 to extend their series lead to 39-12-2.
Austin Peay is the second announced non-conference opponent for Middle Tennessee for the 2025 season. The Blue Raiders are scheduled to open the season at home against the Duke Blue Devils on Aug. 30.
The Governors are the second opponent from the FCS on Middle Tennessee’s future football schedules. The Blue Raiders are also scheduled to host Indiana State on Sept. 12, 2020.

Austin Peay now has five future games scheduled against teams from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The Governors are scheduled to play at Cincinnati in 2020, Ole Miss in 2021, Western Kentucky and Alabama in 2022, and now Middle Tennessee in 2025.
