The Kansas State Wildcats have replaced the Presbyterian Blue Hose with the Nicholls Colonels on their 2019 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Kansas State will host the Nicholls State University Colonels on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019. The Wildcats will pay the Colonels a $450,000 guarantee for the game, per a copy of the contract obtained from Kansas State University via a state open records request.
The date of the Nicholls game and the guarantee are the same as the canceled Presbyterian game.
Presbyterian College is leaving the Big South Conference in 2021 and moving to the Pioneer Football League. The PFL is a non-scholarship league, so Presbyterian has begun relinquishing scholarships and won’t count towards bowl eligibility of FBS opponents moving forward.
Presbyterian has now canceled future football games vs. Georgia Southern (2018), Troy (2018), Miami OH (2019), and Kansas State (2019). The Blue Hose no longer appear on any FBS teams’ future schedules.
After opening against Nicholls in 2019, K-State is scheduled to host Bowling Green on Sept. 7 and then travel to take on Mississippi State on Sept. 14.
In Big 12 play in 2019, Kansas State is set to host Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma, TCU, and West Virginia and travel to Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas Tech.
