Due to the upcoming nine-game football schedule in the ACC, Virginia Tech has updated their future non-conference schedules.
ACC teams will now play three non-conference games each season, and that forced Virginia Tech to shuffle some games.
The Daily Press reports that the Hokies have pushed back the start of their four-game, home-and-home series with East Carolina one year to 2015. Tech has also added a home game against the Liberty Flames to their 2016 schedule, which replaces a previously canceled game against Western Kentucky.
Virginia Tech has also canceled a 2015 home game against Akron, although a contract for that contest was never signed.
With these changes, the Hokies now have three non-conference games scheduled for 2013 through 2016. Tech also has two games penciled in for 2017 and one for 2019.
