The Florida State Seminoles will host the Northern Illinois Huskies in 2018, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Florida State will host Northern Illinois at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Sept. 22, 2018. The Huskies will receive a $1.6 million guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained by NIU via an FOIA request.
FSU and NIU’s first and only meeting on the gridiron was in the 2013 Orange Bowl in Miami. The Seminoles won that game 31-10.
The addition of NIU gives Florida State three non-conference opponents in 2018. The Seminoles are also slated to travel to Notre Dame on Nov. 10 and host Florida on Nov. 24.
Florida State’s fourth non-conference game in 2018 will likely be at home against an opponent from the FCS.
Northern Illinois was previously scheduled to host Idaho on Sept. 22, 2018. According to a copy of a letter from Idaho to NIU, the game has been rescheduled for Sept. 9, 2023.
Other non-conference games scheduled for the Huskies in 2018 include at Iowa (Sept. 1), vs. Utah (Sept. 8), and at BYU (Oct. 27).

So, NIU, is the only non conference team that was available??? It helps them… it doesn’t help US at all. Hopefully, WE dnt get important players injured. WE used to never play pansies.
