The Wyoming Cowboys and the Texas State Bobcats have scheduled a 2011 & 2013 home-and-home football series, Wyoming has announced. The 2011 contest will be the first ever match up between the two schools.
Wyoming will host Texas State at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on September 10, 2011. The Cowboys will travel to face the Bobcats at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos on September 28, 2013.
Texas State, currently a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision, is transitioning to the FBS to join the Western Athletic Conference for the 2012 football season.
With the addition of Texas State, the 2011 Wyoming schedule is now complete. The Cowboys will host Weber State (9/3), Texas State (9/10) and Nebraska (9/24) and travel to Bowling Green (9/17) and Utah State (10/8).
The Cowboys will host New Mexico, TCU and UNLV and travel to Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, and San Diego State in the Mountain West Conference portion of the schedule.
In 2013, Wyoming also has games scheduled at home against Idaho and at Nebraska.
