Wyoming has scheduled a home-and-home football series against Eastern Michigan, the school announced today.
Eastern Michigan will make the trip to War Memorial Stadium in Laramie for their first ever match-up against Wyoming on Sept. 19, 2015. The Cowboys will return the trip to Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti on Sept. 24, 2016.
The series against Eastern Michigan replaces Utah State on Wyoming’s future football schedules. Utah State is joining the MWC in 2013.
Wyoming will also face Northern Illinois in a 2015-16 home-and-home series. NIU announced the series earlier this evening.
The addition of Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois gives Wyoming a total of three non-conference games in both 2015 and 2016. The Cowboys are now scheduled to open the 2015 season at home vs. North Dakota on Sept. 5, host Eastern Michigan on Sept. 19, and travel to Northern Illinois on Sept. 26.
After opening at home vs. Northern Illinois in 2016 (Sept. 3), Wyoming travels to Nebraska (Sept. 17) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 24). The Cowboys need one more non-conference game to complete their 2015 and 2016 schedules.
As for Eastern Michigan, the Eagles now have three games in 2015 and two in 2016. The Eagles travel to Army on Oct. 24 and are tentatively scheduled to visit LSU. In 2016, EMU travels to Michigan State.
