The Western Illinois Leathernecks have announced their fall 2021 football schedule, which includes five home games at Hanson Field in Macomb, Ill.

Western Illinois opens its 2021 campaign with a Thursday, Sept. 2 trek to Muncie, Ind., to take on the Ball State Cardinals. The Leathernecks then travel to face Montana on Sept. 11 before hosting their first opponent of the season, Eastern Washington, at Hanson Field on Sept. 18.

Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) opponents coming to Macomb in the fall of 2021 include Southern Illinois on Oct. 2, South Dakota State on Oct. 16, Illinois State on Oct. 30, and South Dakota on Nov. 6.

UNI’s road MVFC opponents this fall include Youngstown State on Sept. 25, Indiana State on Oct. 9, North Dakota on Oct. 23, and Northern Iowa on Nov. 20.

Western Illinois wrapped up their spring 2021 campaign 1-5 in MVFC action. The Leathernecks’ lone win came in what turned out to be their season-finale on April 3 at home against Youngstown State (27-24).
