The UTSA Roadrunners have scheduled a 3-game football series with the Baylor Bears of the Big 12 Conference, the school announced last week.
UTSA will travel to face Baylor at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco on September 9, 2017 and on September 7, 2019. The Roadrunners will host the Bears at the Alamodome in San Antonio on September 8, 2018.
The UTSA Roadrunners (University of Texas at San Antonio) will play its inaugural football season in 2011.
From GoUTSA.com:
UTSA, which signed its first recruiting class in February, will play two years as an FCS Independent. It then will notify the NCAA in June 2013 of its intent to advance to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2015. The Roadrunners will comply with FBS standards during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, then will seek full FBS membership and bowl eligibility in 2015.

So , when UTSA joins FBS, will they first be an independent, and then join a confrence such as C-USA or the Sun Belt.
That’s what it sounds like to me.
Yeah, there were rumors of joining the Southland (our current conference) while FCS, but we’ve since announced that we will go Independent until we get an FBS invite. C-USA and Sun Belt are two of the most likely candidates. There are rumors of a lot of FBS teams that are interested in getting on our schedules for 2015 or later, including SMU, Houston, K-State, OSU, Texas Tech, Arizona and Arizona State.
