The USF Bulls have completed their 2012 non-conference football schedule with the addition of Chattanooga, TBO.com has reported.
USF will open the 2012 season at home on September 1 against the Chattanooga Mocs. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
South Florida will also host the Florida State Seminoles on September 29. Although the two are separated by less than 250 miles, their first and only meeting on the football field was in 2009. USF upset FSU 17-7 in Tallahassee.
Two road games round out the non-conference portion of USF’s 2012 schedule: September 22 at Ball State and November 24 at Miami (FL). The game against Ball State is the second half of a home-and-home series that begins in Tampa in 2011.
USF and Miami have played three times with the Canes holding a 2-1 lead. Last November, the Bulls upset the Hurricanes 23-20 at Miami.
With the addition of TCU to the Big East in 2012, each school will play an eight-game conference schedule. Unless the current format is changed, the Bulls will host Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and UConn and travel to Cincinnati, Louisville, TCU and West Virginia.
