The Troy Trojans will host the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on September 2, 2023, Troy’s sports information department announced Friday.
Troy and Stephen F. Austin were once rivals in the FCS Southland Conference, and have split the six games played between the two on the gridiron. The Trojans claimed a 6-0 road decision from the Lumberjacks in Hunter Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, Texas, in the most recent tilt on November 4, 2000.
This will be Troy’s first game against a Southland foe since Abilene Christian handed the Trojans a 38-35 defeat on September 13, 2014.
This contest finalizes Troy’s 2023 non-league slate. Western Kentucky visits Veterans Memorial Stadium September 23, with contests at Kansas State (September 9) and Army (October 14) rounding out the campaign.
