The Texas A&M Aggies will host the Sam Houston State Bearkats in 2022 and the McNeese Cowboys in 2024, according to announcements on Tuesday.
Sam Houston State will travel to take on Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on September 3, 2022. The game will mark the 13th meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Texas A&M and Sam Houston State first met on the gridiron in 1919 in College Station. The Aggies defeated the Bearkats 65-28 in their most recent matchup in 2013 to extend their unbeaten record in the series to 12-0.
The McNeese Cowboys will travel to face Texas A&M in College Station on a date to be announced in 2024. In their first and only meeting on the gridiron back in 2001, Texas A&M defeated McNeese 38-21 at Kyle Field.
Update: McNeese will play at Texas A&M on Sept. 7, 2024 and will receive a $500,000 guarantee for the game, per the copy of the contract obtained from Texas A&M University via a state of Texas Public Information Act request.
Sam Houston State and McNeese are both members of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
The addition of Sam Houston State tentatively completes the non-conference schedule for Texas A&M in 2022. The Aggies’ other three opponents scheduled are all at home — Appalachian State (Sept. 10), Miami FL (Sept. 17), and UMass (Nov. 19).
McNeese is the third known non-conference opponent for Texas A&M’s 2024 non-conference schedule. Also slated to visit Kyle Field that season are Notre Dame (Aug. 31) and Bowling Green (Sept. 21).
Football Schedules
All that money and talk of glory and you go out and schedule three kids games? Lol. What a joke.
I guess will not ever play Clemson again in the regular season.
