The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have released their 2019 football schedule (via FCS STATS), which includes six home and six road games.
SDSU opens its season on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Big Ten opponent Minnesota. Long Island makes the trek to Brookings on Sept. 7, followed by a Sept. 14 visit to Drake. Southern Utah is slated for a Sept. 21 game at South Dakota State, with an open date to finish the month.
Missouri Valley Football Conference play opens October, with an Oct. 5 home game against Southern Illinois. Games at Youngstown State (Oct. 12) and Indiana State (Oct. 19) follow, with North Dakota State making the trip across the border on Oct. 26.
Road league games serve to bookend November, with a game at Missouri State (Nov. 2) starting the month. Illinois State and Northern Iowa visit on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16, respectively, with a trip to rival South Dakota ending the season on Nov. 23.
John Stiegelmeier’s Jackrabbits advanced to the FCS playoff semifinals last season, defeating Duquesne and Kennesaw State before succumbing, 44-21, to North Dakota State. The club finished 10-3 (6-2 MVFC).
