The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will play at the Florida State Seminoles in 2022, the school announced on Thursday.
Louisiana will travel to take on the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla., on November 19, 2022. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
The Ragin’ Cajuns are 1-3 against current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Louisiana is 1-1 against Miami and 0-1 against both Pitt and Virginia Tech.
Florida State is 10-1 against teams currently in the Sun Belt Conference. Their only loss was to Troy in 1947 when the Trojans were members of the Alabama Intercollegiate Conference. FSU was an Independent at the time.
The addition of Florida State gives Louisiana three non-conference opponents for their 2022 football schedule. The Ragin’ Cajuns are also scheduled to host the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sept. 10 and travel to play the Rice Owls on Sept. 17.
Louisiana is only the second known non-conference opponent for Florida State for the 2022 season. The only other contest scheduled for FSU is a home game against in-state rival Florida on Nov. 26.
The Ragin’ Cajuns kicked off their 2019 schedule with a 38-28 loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in New Orleans, La. Florida State also lost their season-opener to the Boise State Broncos, 36-31 in Tallahassee.
Update (9/8/2019)
Florida State will pay Louisiana a $1.4 million guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette via a state public records request.
Football Schedules
Florida State will fill out their 2022 sked w/Gardner-Webb or Houston Baptist.
ULL maybe there in 2022 but coach Willie won’t be.
