The Prairie View A&M Panthers will play at the UNLV Rebels in 2018, the school announced on Wednesday.
PVAMU will travel to take on UNLV at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018. The game will be only the second-ever meeting between the two schools following a 63-28 UNLV victory back in 1974.
Prairie View A&M is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Panthers finished the 2017 season 6-5 overall and 4-3 in SWAC play.
The addition of PVAMU completes the non-conference portion of UNLV’s 2018 football schedule. The Rebels are scheduled to open the season at USC on Sept. 1, host UTEP on Sept. 8, and travel to Arkansas State on Sept. 22.
In Mountain West play in 2018, the UNLV Rebels will host Air Force, Fresno State, Nevada, and New Mexico and will travel to Hawaii, San Diego State, San Jose State, and Utah State.
The final FBS program still to announce a 2018 game is….drum roll please….
Akron Zips!
Clearly the Akron AD does not understand the meaning of Zip.

SCHEDULE ADDITIONS — UMass athletic director Ryan Bamford confirmed the addition of several games to future Minuteman schedules. The scheduling agreement with Army, which had previously been for four seasons, is now 10. The two independents will play every year from 2019-2028. The series with Liberty has gone from two years to eight years. UMass and the Flames will play each season from 2018 to 2025.
The Minutemen will also begin a home-and-home series with former MAC rival Akron. The Zips will come to Amherst in 2019 and UMass will go to Ohio in 2020. Dates for all of those will be officially announced late.
We’ll address this once UMass issues a release.
Maybe the Rebels will take this opponent seriously…..after getting schooled by Howard U last Fall…
