The Oregon State Beavers have added the Idaho Vandals to their 2028 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

A copy of the football game contract with Oregon State University was obtained from the University of Idaho via a state public records request. The contract was executed on August 8, 2022.

Oregon State will host Idaho at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore., on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2028. Oregon State will pay Idaho a $675,000 guarantee for the contest, according to the copy of the contract.

Oregon State and Idaho first met on the gridiron in 1913 and have a played a total of 44 contests. The Beavers won the most recent contest in 2021, 42-0, and currently hold a 37-7 advantage in the overall series.

Idaho, a member of the Big Sky Conference, is the fifth game against a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponent on Oregon State’s future non-conference schedules. The Beavers are also slated to host Idaho State in 2024, Portland State in 2025, Sacramento State in 2026, and Portland State again in 2027.

Oregon State is currently a member of the Pac-12 Conference. However, with 10 teams departing the conference next season, the Beavers’ future conference membership is in limbo. NCAA rules stipulate that a multi-sport conference must have seven members. Oregon State, along with Washington State, could play as FBS Independents, join the Mountain West, or attempt to rebuild the Pac-12.

The Vandals are now scheduled to face six Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents over the next six seasons. Idaho is currently slated to play at both Oregon and Wyoming in 2024 and at San Jose State in 2025. The Vandals will also face Washington State in 2025, 2027, and 2029.
