The Oklahoma Sooners have completed their 2012 football schedule with the addition of non-conference games against Florida A&M and UTEP, the school announced this morning.
OU will open the 2012 season at the Sun Bowl in El Paso against the UTEP Miners on Sept. 1. The Sooners are 2-0 all-time against the Miners after games in 2000 and 2002.
The following week, Oklahoma will host the Florida A&M Rattlers at Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium in Norman. The game will be the first ever between OU and FAMU.
Oklahoma’s third and final non-conference game is at home on Oct. 27 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Sooners trail in the series 8-1 and haven’t played the Irish since 1999.
Yesterday, the Sooners announced their 2012 Big 12 football schedule. They open conference play at home on Sept. 22 against the Kansas State Wildcats. Other featured games include Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas (Oct. 13), at West Virginia (Nov. 17), vs. Oklahoma State (Nov. 24) and at TCU (Dec. 1).
