The Ohio State Buckeyes have added the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to their 2016 football schedule, Tulsa World has reported.
Ohio State will host Tulsa at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, likely on either Sept. 10 or Sept. 24, 2016. Those are the only two open dates on Ohio State’s schedule, with Oct. 8 being reserved as a bye week.
OSU athletic director Gene Smith confirmed the scheduling of the game to The Columbus Dispatch. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
The addition of Tulsa gives Ohio State three non-conference games for the 2016 season. OSU opens at home against Bowling Green on Sept. 3 and travels to Oklahoma on Sept. 17. Their 2016 Big Ten schedule was announced in May.
Tulsa now has half of their non-conference games set for 2016. The Golden Hurricane face another tough contest on opening weekend when they travel to Oklahoma State (Sept. 3).
