The New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys in the 2012 season opener, the NFL announced this afternoon.
The game will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. NBC will televise the game nationally at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The 2012 NFL season opener is usually played on a Thursday night, but this year’s game was moved to Wednesday to “avoid a conflict with President Barack Obama’s Thursday night speech at the Democratic National Convention.”
New York, the Super Bowl XLVI champions, defeated Dallas 37-34 and 31-14 last season.

Would rather see some football instead of that stupid odumo. Still have it when he speaks will have a better audience.
great…another meta that’ll inevitably close due to completely unrelated politically-persuaded name-calling.
Even though I didn’t (and won’t) vote for Obama, I understand the move by the NFL. Plus – season starts 1 day earlier than usual. Yay for fans!
Woohoo
