The Nicholls Colonels have released their 2020 football schedule, which features a game at LSU.
Nicholls opens the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at home at John L. Guidry Stadium in Thibodaux, La., against Mississippi Valley State, which is the first of their two non-conference contests. The Colonels open Southland Conference action the following week on Sept. 12 on the road at Northwestern State.
On Sept. 19, Nicholls hosts Sam Houston State for their first Southland home contest of the season. The Colonels then travel to take on Central Arkansas on Sept. 26 followed by their final non-conference game of the season at LSU on Oct. 3.
Nicholls returns to Southland action on Oct. 10 when they host Stephen F. Austin in Thibodaux. Next, the Colonels play back-to-back games on the road at Abilene Christian on Oct. 17 and at Houston Baptist on Oct. 24.
Incarnate Word visits John L. Guidry Stadium on Halloween (Oct. 31) before the Colonels travel to face McNeese on Nov. 7.
After an open date on Nov. 12, Nicholls closes out the 2020 regular-season at home against Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, Nov. 19.
Nicholls finished the 2019 season 9-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The Colonels advanced to the FCS Playoffs, but lost in the second round to eventual national champion North Dakota State, 37-13.
