The Monmouth Hawks have announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes six home contests.
With an extra week on the calendar in 2019, Monmouth will play five non-conference games to go along with their seven Big South Conference contests.
Monmouth will play all five of their non-conference opponents at the top of their schedule, beginning with a road contest at the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Hawks open the home portion of their 2019 schedule at Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, New Jersey, on Sept. 7 against the Lafayette Leopards. The following week on Sept. 14, the UAlbany Great Danes visit Kessler Stadium.
Monmouth hits the road for their final two non-conference games in 2019. The Hawks play at the Montana Grizzlies on Sept. 21 and, after an open date, play at the Wagner Seahawks on Oct. 5. The Wagner contest was previously unannounced.
Big South Conference action for Monmouth kicks off with consecutive games at Kessler Stadium, beginning with the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Oct. 12. The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs visit the following week on Oct. 19.
Back-to-back road trips are up next, as Monmouth will play at the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Oct. 26 and at the Kennesaw State Owls on Nov. 2.
Monmouth returns home to host the North Alabama Lions on Nov. 9 before traveling to play the Campbell Camels on Nov. 16. The Hawks complete their 2019 regular-season schedule at home against the Hampton Pirates on Nov. 23.
“After opening the season against Western Michigan, we will return home to face Lafayette (Patriot) and Albany (CAA), before travel to play Montana from the Big Sky Conference,” said Monmouth Head Coach Kevin Callahan. “It is an extremely demanding 12 game-schedule. In 2019, the Big South will be as competitive as it has ever been.”
