The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils have announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes six home contests.
Mississippi Valley State will open the 2019 season with consecutive road games, first at the Tennessee State Tigers on Saturday, Aug. 31. MVSU then visits the Lamar Cardinals on Sept. 7.
After their first off week of the season, the Delta Devils open their home slate at Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena against the Bethune Cookman Wildcats on Sept. 21.
The following week on Sept. 28, Mississippi Valley State opens Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at the Alcorn State Braves. MVSU then returns to Itta Bena to host the Virginia-Lynchburg Dragons for Homecoming on Oct. 5.
The Delta Devils return to SWAC play on Oct. 12 with a trip to take on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.
Mississippi Valley State then hosts four consecutive SWAC opponents at Rice-Totten Stadium. The Jackson State Tigers visit on Oct. 19, the Texas Southern Tigers on Oct. 26, and the Alabama State Hornets on Nov. 2.
After their second and final off week of the season, MVSU hosts the Grambling State Tigers on Nov. 16 in Itta Bena.
Mississippi Valley State closes out the 2019 regular-season on the road against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs on Nov. 23.
The 2019 SWAC Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 at a site to be determined.

Can MVSU take the place of Savannah State as the worst program at the FCS level? They have been terrible for so many years now. Its hard to remember that they once used to be feared and dominated the SWAC for a number seasons.
