The Merrimack Warriors will host the Mayville State Comets in 2019, according to the official website of MSU.
Merrimack will host Mayville State at Duane Stadium in North Andover, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Sept. 21. The contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Mayville State, located in Mayville, North Dakota, is a member of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Comets finished the 2018 season 1-9 overall and 0-7 in NSAA action.
Merrimack College continues to build out their 2019 football schedule as they transition to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Warriors will compete in the Northeast Conference (NEC).
For the 2019 season, Merrimack will play only four NEC opponents and will not be eligible for the conference championship or the FCS Playoffs. The Warriors will host Bryant and will play at Central Connecticut, Saint Francis (Pa.), and Long Island.
Other opponents currently scheduled for Merrimack in 2019 include Presbyterian and Franklin Pierce at home and Lehigh, Delaware State, and Rhode Island on the road.
Merrimack will wrap up Spring practice on Saturday, April 27 with their annual Navy-Gold Spring Game. The game time has yet to be announced.
