The Mercer Bears have announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes six games at Five Star Stadium in Macon, Georgia.
Mercer opens the 2019 season on the road at SoCon foe Western Carolina on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Bears then have an open date in Week 2 (Sept. 7) before hosting Austin Peay at Five Star Stadium in Macon on Sept. 14.
The following week on Sept. 21, Mercer travels to play Furman in another SoCon contest. The Bears then return home to host back-to-back contests against Campbell on Sept. 28 (non-conference) and Chattanooga (SoCon) on Oct. 5.
After their second open date on Oct. 12, the Bears host fellow SoCon member VMI on Oct. 19 before traveling to take on The Citadel, also a conference game, on Oct. 26.
The Bears then return home to host consecutive games against SoCon opponents Samford on Nov. 2 and Wofford on Nov. 9. Mercer closes out conference play in 2019 at ETSU on Nov. 16.
Mercer’s final non-conference game and regular-season game of their 2019 campaign is in Chapel Hill against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The 2019 FCS Playoffs will begin on Saturday, Nov. 30. Mercer, which restarted their football program in 2013 after a 72-year hiatus, has not made a post-season appearance yet.
