The McNeese Cowboys have announced their 2020 football schedule, which includes six games at home.
McNeese opens the 2020 season on the road on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. The following week on Sept. 12, the Cowboys open their home slate with a non-conference contest against the Northern Colorado Bears at Cowboy Stadium in Lake Charles, La.
The Cowboys then play nine consecutive Southland Conference contests, beginning with a home tilt against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Sept. 19. McNeese then travels to take on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Sept. 26 before returning to Lake Charles to host the Central Arkansas Bears on Oct. 3.
Next up for McNeese is a trip to play the Houston Baptist Huskies on Oct. 10, which is followed by their only open date of the season on Oct. 17.
After the off week, a trip to face the Sam Houston State Bearkats is slated for Oct. 24 before McNeese hosts back-to-back contests at Cowboy Stadium against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on Oct. 31 and the Nicholls Colonels on Nov. 7.
McNeese closes out their 2020 regular-season schedule with contests at the Northwestern State Demons on Nov. 14 and home against the Lamar Cardinals on Nov. 21.
McNeese finished the 2019 season 7-5 overall and 5-4 in Southland Conference action. The Cowboys last won the Southland Conference championship in 2015.
