Maryland and UConn have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2024 and 2026, Stadium’s Brett McMurphy reported Thursday.

Maryland’s sports information department reported that the games will be contested August 31, 2024, in College Park, with the 2026 return taking place September 12 in East Hartford.
The sides have played twice, with each taking the road half of a series in 2012 and 2013. Maryland won the 2013 tilt, 32-21, with UConn recording a 24-21 result in College Park in 2012.
Maryland adds the contest to 2024 outings at Virginia and at home against Bowling Green, while the 2026 contest joins a home game against Virginia Tech. UConn travels to Duke in 2024 and Tennessee in 2026, with Lafayette playing at UConn in the latter year.

Football Schedules
The Edsall Trophy can be awarded to winner, well or maybe the loser.
I’m willing to bet that UConn football will turn around once they leave The American. Getting a coach like Jim Tressel would go a long way toward that. I know he wants back in football, he’s just in denial about it.
And they wonder why fans don’t attend games. Who would want to watch UConn in an non-conference game? Nothing against UConn, but Maryland needs to upgrade its opponents if they ever plan on competing for a National Championship. Play Clemson, Pitt, Auburn, Navy, Army, LSU, just to mention a few. The Texas series was great and fun to watch!
In 2024 Maryland already has @ Virginia on the schedule.
Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, @Michigan, @ Iowa.
2026 home against Virginia Tech
They are looking for winnable games against D1 teams so they’ll be bowl eligible. Big Ten plays 9 game conference schedules so that leaves 3 OC games. You add 1 legit OC team and two winnable games. I rather teams play Uconn then Furman/other D1A teams.
