The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will play at the Vanderbilt Commodores in 2020, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract was obtained from Louisiana Tech University via a state open records request.
Louisiana Tech will travel to take on Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Nov. 21, 2020. The Bulldogs will receive an $800,000 guarantee for playing the game, per the copy of the contract.
In their first and only meeting on the gridiron, Vanderbilt defeated Louisiana Tech 29-6 in Nashville on Nov. 11, 1995.
Vanderbilt is the third non-conference opponent scheduled for Louisiana Tech for the 2020 season. The Bulldogs are scheduled to open the season at UNLV on Sept. 5 and then travel to take on Baylor on Sept. 12. LA Tech’s final non-conference opponent will likely be a home contest versus a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team.
The addition of Louisiana Tech tentatively completes Vanderbilt’s 2020 non-conference football schedule. The Commodores are slated to open the season at home against Mercer on Sept. 5, play at Kansas State on Sept. 19, and host Colorado State on Sept. 26.
In SEC action in 2020, Vandy is scheduled to host Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Tennessee and play at Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, and Texas A&M.
Louisiana Tech is scheduled to open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 in Austin against the Texas Longhorns. Vanderbilt opens the season on the same day at home against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Football Schedules
That’s an absurdly low guarantee for a pretty good FBS program.
I guess it’s because it’s Vanderbilt and they don’t draw a ton of fans.
