The Indiana Hoosiers and the UMass Minutemen have scheduled a home-and-home football series for the 2012 and 2017 seasons, both schools announced yesterday.
UMass will host Indiana at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on September 8, 2012. The game will be the first home game for UMass as an FBS school.
UMass announced in April their move from the FCS to the FBS. They will play a full MAC schedule in 2012 and will be eligible for the MAC Championship Game and bowls beginning with the 2013 season.
To complete the home-and-home series, the Minutemen will travel to face the Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington during the 2017 season. An exact date for the game was not announced.
UMass has been a member of the Colonial Athletic Association since 2007. Prior to that, they played in the Atlantic 10 Conference (1997-2006). The Minutemen have won a total of 22 conference championships and the 1998 Division I-AA National Championship.
