The Georgia Southern Eagles have added home-and-home football series with Boise State and BYU and have made several other changes, the school announced on Thursday.
Georgia Southern will play a home-and-home series with Boise State, beginning on Sept. 5, 2020 at Albertson’s Stadium in Boise and culminating on Aug. 31, 2024 at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
Georgia Southern will host BYU in Statesboro on Nov. 20, 2021. The series will conclude with the Eagles traveling to play the Cougars at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Oct. 12, 2024.
The Eagles have moved a future series with Houston that was scheduled for 2020-21. Georgia Southern will now host UH on Sept. 26, 2026 and will play at TDECU Stadium on Sept. 18, 2027.
Georgia Southern also officially announced a schedule addition and change that were previously reported. The Eagles will host Campbell on Sept. 12, 2020 and have pushed back their game at Ole Miss to Oct. 31, 2020.
“Our goal in scheduling is to ensure our fans have at least six opportunities to watch the Eagles play at home and create the most attractive home schedule possible,” GS Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein said. “With these moves, the 2020 and 2021 schedules now both feature six home games for the Eagles as opposed to the seven and five that were originally scheduled. This means we will have six games at home through at least 2024. In these three teams, you have one school that has won a national championship and is steeped in history as well as two Group of Five programs that have been ranked in the top 25 in the past two seasons.”
Great games in Paulson Stadium! The Eagles will be back on track with Lunsford!
