The Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles have extended their annual football series through the 2022 season, both schools announced on Tuesday.
The two in-state rivals will continue to meet during the last week of the regular-season. The Gators will host the Seminoles at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on Nov. 30, 2019 and Nov. 27, 2021. FSU will host UF at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Nov. 28, 2020 and Nov. 26, 2022.
Florida and Florida State have met every year since the series began on Nov. 22, 1958 in Gainesville. The Gators defeated the Seminoles in Tallahassee last season, 41-14, to halt a five-game losing streak. Florida currently leads the overall series 35-26-2.
Florida’s non-conference schedule for the 2020 season is already complete. The Gators open at home against Eastern Washington on Sept. 5, host South Alabama on Sept. 19 and New Mexico State on Nov. 21, and travel to Florida State on Nov. 28.
UF needs one non-conference opponent to complete their 2021 slate and two to complete their 2022 slate.
Florida State has three scheduled non-conference games for 2020. The Seminoles are scheduled to open against West Virginia on Sept. 5 in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. FSU also plays at Boise State on Sept. 19 and hosts Florida on Nov. 28.
The Seminoles still need to schedule two non-conference opponents for 2021 and three for 2022.
