Week two of the 2009 college football season features some pivotal conference games as well as some good non-conference matchups. Listed below are the games with TV times and ticket options:
- Georgia Tech at Miami (FL) – Thurs., Sept. 17, 2009
The Yellow Jackets have won four in a row over the Hurricanes. The game will be televised by ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET.
- North Carolina at East Carolina – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
UNC is looking to avenge last season’s 34-31 loss to the Pirates. The game will be televised by ESPN2 at 12:00 p.m. ET.
- Louisville at Kentucky – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
Kentucky has won the last two games, and leads 12-9 in the overall series. The game will be televised by ESPNU at 12:00 p.m. ET.
- Michigan State at Notre Dame – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
The Spartans are looking to avoid an 0-3 start, and the Irish are coming off of a last second loss to Michigan. The game will be televised by NBC at 3:30 p.m. ET.
- Nebraska at Virginia Tech – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
Last year, the Hokies defeated the Cornhuskers 35-30 in Lincoln. The game will be televised by ABC/ESPN2/ESPN GamePlan at 3:30 p.m. ET.
- Tennessee at Florida – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
Urban Meyer and the national champion Gators are looking to give new Vol head coach Lane Kiffen a rude welcome to the SEC. The game will be televised by CBS at 3:30 p.m. ET.
- Cincinnati at Oregon State – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
The Bearcats beat the Beavers 34-3 in the first ever meeting between these two schools in 2007. The game will be televised by FSN at 6:45 p.m. ET.
- Florida State at BYU – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
BYU is rising high after upsetting Oklahoma and crushing Tulane, while the Noles lost to Miami (FL) and barely escaped Jacksonville State. The game will be televised by Versus at 7:00 p.m. ET.
- West Virginia at Auburn – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
The Mountaineers beat the Tigers 34-17 in the first ever meeting between these two schools last year. The game will be televised by ESPN2 at 7:45 p.m. ET.
- Georgia at Arkansas – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
Georgia lost to Oklahoma State and struggled to beat South Carolina. Arkansas has only played Missouri State. The game will be televised by ESPN at 7:45 p.m. ET.
- Texas Tech at Texas – Sat., Sept. 19, 2009
Both teams come into the game 2-0 and look to take the early lead in the Big 12 South. The game will be televised by ABC at 8:00 p.m. ET.
CORRECTION: Kentucky has won the last 2 meetings AND leads the series against Louisville. From the UofL website: “Louisville and Kentucky will meet for the 22nd time in school history with the Wildcats owning a 12-9 advantage.”
