The Eastern Illinois Panthers have announced their 2019 football schedule, which features a game at Indiana.
Eastern Illinois will open the 2019 season with back-to-back non-conference contests, first on Thursday, Aug. 29 on the road against the Chattanooga Mocs. The Panthers then travel to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers on Sept. 7.
EIU opens up their home schedule at O’Brien Stadium in Charleston on Sept. 14 against the Illinois State Redbirds. The following week on Sept. 21, Eastern Illinois closes out the non-conference portion of their schedule at the Indiana State Sycamores.
Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) play for Eastern Illinois begins on Sept. 28 at O’Brien Stadium against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (Family Weekend). Other home contests for EIU include Jacksonville State (Oct. 12), Eastern Kentucky (Oct. 26; Homecoming), and Southeast Missouri (Nov. 16).
Eastern Illinois will travel to face Murray State (Oct. 5), UT Martin (Oct. 19), Tennessee State (Nov. 9), and Austin Peay (Nov. 23).
The Panthers’ only open date of the season is set for Nov. 2.
EIU finished the 2018 season 3-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Panthers will be led this season by first-year head coach Adam Cushing.
