It’s Christmas Day 2020 and there are two football games on the schedule today, which includes one college and one NFL contest.
Football action on Christmas Day this year begins with a college football bowl game. The Marshall Thundering Herd of Conference USA will take on the Buffalo Bulls of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in the Camellia Bowl. The game will be played at the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala., and the matchup will be televised by ESPN at 2:30pm ET.
The Camellia Bowl is the second bowl game of the season to be played at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. On Wednesday, the Memphis Tigers defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls 25-10 in the Montgomery Bowl, which was staged due to the postponement of the inaugural Fenway Bowl.
Since Christmas Eve fell on a Thursday this year, there was no Thursday Night Football contest in the NFL. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will host the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas day. The game will kickoff at 4:30pm ET with the broadcast on FOX, the NFL Network, and Amazon.
The day after Christmas (Saturday, Dec. 26) offers a slate of six games, three of which are college football bowl games and three from the NFL. College bowl games set for Saturday include the Lending Tree Bowl (WKU vs. Georgia State), SERVPRO First Responder Bowl (Louisiana vs. UTSA) and FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl (Liberty vs. Coastal Carolina).
Saturday NFL games include Tampa Bay at Detroit, San Francisco at Arizona, and Miami at Las Vegas.
