The Charleston Southern Buccaneers have added North Greenville and Mercer to complete their 2020 football schedule, according to an announcement on Thursday.
Charleston Southern will host the North Greenville Crusaders at Buccaneer Field in North Charleston, S.C., to open the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5. North Greenville competes in the Gulf South Conference in Division II.
In 14 previous meetings, Charleston Southern has defeated North Greenville 12 times. In their most recent matchup in 2015, the Buccaneers won 41-14 at home.
Charleston Southern will travel to take on the Mercer Bears for the first time on the gridiron on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Five Star Stadium in Macon, Ga.
Mercer is a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Bears reinstated their football program in 2013 after a 72-year hiatus.
Three other Charleston Southern non-conference opponents were previously reported. The Buccaneers will host Furman on Sept. 12 and will travel to take on The Citadel on Sept. 19 and Arkansas on Oct. 3.
Charleston Southern’s five-game Big South Conference football schedule was also announced today. The Buccaneers will host Gardner-Webb on Oct. 17 and Kennesaw State on Nov. 7.
Road Big South contests for CSU in 2020 include Campbell on Oct. 10, Monmouth on Oct. 31, and Hampton on Nov. 21.
Charleston Southern is also scheduled to host Big South member North Alabama on Oct. 24. However, North Alabama is in transitional status until 2022 and their games will not count in the Big South standings until then.
Football Schedules
