The BYU Cougars are adding the Texas State Bobcats and the UTSA Roadrunners to their 2020 football schedule, per two separate reports.
According to Keff Ciardello of the Austin American-Statesman, Texas State will travel to take on BYU at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, on a date to be determined in 2020.
A date for the game is unknown, but both schools share an open date on Oct. 3.
Hearing #TXST–#BYU is a done deal. Should be a pay game for the Bobcats. All I know for now. https://t.co/EKp54RA9QJ

Stadium’s Brett McMurphy also reported on Thursday that BYU will host UTSA at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Oct. 10, 2020. The game would mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

The additions of Texas State, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, and UTSA, a member of Conference USA, would give the Cougars seven games on their revised 2020 football schedule, which has been turned upside down due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
BYU is scheduled to open the season at Navy on Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day). The Cougars are also scheduled to play at Army on Sept. 19 and host Troy on Sept. 26, Houston on Oct. 16, and North Alabama on Nov. 21.
Football Schedules
Are the Bobcats wanting that quit turnaround from a 10/3 road game? Texas St has a 10/8 road game. 10/24 Texas St at BYU is more like it.
Your Texas St 2020 schedule has two entries for 9/12/20
I think BYU-Texas State will be on Friday night (or maybe even Thursday night), which will provide more turnaround time for Texas State.
BYU almost always keeps the first weekend in October open for the Mormon General Conference.
