I don’t know how much to look at this, but is surely looks that the SEC games could be predicted by this schedule. For example, Week 3, looks like Bama/Miss and UGA/SCar could both be at night on ESPN or ESPN2 since there are no Big Ten games scheduled then and both slots are used at noon.

Yeah, I thought the Bama/Wisconsin game was going to be at 3:30pm, I can understand why it is in prime time though.

Not sure if the Cougars will romp. But, Nebraska vs BYU shapes up to be one of the best matchup of the opening weekend in college football.
Alabama vs Wisconsin and OSU vs Va Tech will keep me watching as well.
Although they have clearly struggled in the Pac 12 South. Utah at home could pull off a huge upset if Jim doesn’t have the boys ready.

Not sure how Utah beating Michigan would be a huge upset given that Utah beat them last year, had 4 more wins than them last year, and beat UCLA and USC last year. And the game is at Rice-Eccles, one of the most hostile environments in FBS.

WOW.
Never realized Utah was struggling so hard in conference.
To break it down…There are only 6 teams in the PAC 12 South and Utah & Colorado have been last or second to last place in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
I am wondering if this is what the PAC 12 had in mind when they expanded?

Utah is a very competitive program with the misfortune of playing in the nation’s best CFB division, and back to back wins over Stanford are nothing to sneeze at. Don’t be surprised if they trounce Michigan at home on Thursday night Sept. 3rd to open the season. It’ll be interesting to see which SEC game gets the 7:45 PM timeslot on ESPN on 9-19 opposite the 8 PM Stanford @ USC showdown on ABC as the Trojans go for three straight wins against the Cardinal.

Marv,

Utah is in the nation’s best CFB division?

I didn’t realize they played in the SEC West :)

Other than Colorado, the PAC South is about the next best thing to the SEC West. USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, and Utah all have strong programs. The difference is that the SEC West now has 7 strong programs with Arkansas coming out of the doldrums.
.
Let’s allow Marv to say the PAC South is the nation’s best “six team” CFB division, heh.

Auburn and Texas A & M have shown no inclination to be able to produce a championship level defense, and nobody has yet to figure out how the Aggies went from national irrelevance in the Big 12 to being IMMEDIATELY competitive when the ‘experts’ said it couldn’t be done in less than 5-10 years. The Tigers have to prove that they have recovered from the biggest choke job in the history of the BCS with a new QB and a new DC—how long will that take?

Ole Miss has been driven back into irrelevancy and to the drawing board; whatever credibility they earned from upsetting Alabama vanished after that debacle against TCU.

LSU still has issues at QB which have plagued them throughout various portions of the Les Miles era, but they play in a conference where they can win 8+ games without one as they did last year.

Mississippi St. Is still years away from becoming nationally relevant, and like Ole Miss, their OOC schedules remain indefensible.

Arkansas is on the rise, but they haven’t been relevant football-wise in decades; let’s see if Bielema can continue to improve the product.

Alabama’s defense has fallen off dramatically since OU punched their lights out; how long will it take Kirby Smart to rebuild it after it disappeared against the Buckeyes?

Got it.
Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and LSU are not very good
But Utah has finished 5th (out of 6 teams) in the PAC 12 South for 3 straight years but they are super competitive.
Makes sense.

Big ten wins triple header!! Huskers 37-16 over Byu .. Badgers 27-23 over Bama and Buckeyes 48-13 over v tech!!!!
