The Alabama Crimson Tide have added future football games against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in 2021 and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in 2023, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Copies of both game contracts were obtained from the University of Alabama via a state open records request.
Alabama will host Southern Miss at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 25, 2021. The Golden Eagles will receive a $1.9 million guarantee for the game, per the copy of the contract.
Alabama and Southern Miss are also scheduled to meet in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 21, 2019, which we reported back in 2016.
Alabama leads the all-time series with Southern Miss 34-5-2. The Crimson Tide have won five straight in the series since falling to the Golden Eagles 21-0 back in 2000. Wins in 1993 and 2005 were later vacated by Alabama.
On Sept. 16, 2023, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will take on the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa. Alabama will pay WKU a $1.9 million guarantee, per the contract.
Alabama and WKU have met three times on the gridiron. In their most recent meeting in 2016, the Crimson Tide defeated the Hilltoppers 38-10 to extend their series lead to 3-0.
Last week, Utah State announced that they will travel to face Alabama on Sept. 3, 2022 and that they will receive a $1,910,000 guarantee.
Football Schedules
come on Alabama you can schedule tougher than that! Try a Power 5 School (Kansas does not count)
Nice to see S.Miss back on the schedule, they had a good series back in the 80″s & 90’s.
They play a power 5 non conference school every just like most other power 5 teams. They have Miami scheduled for this year.
SEC-envy.
If Kansas doesn’t count, half of the Little Ten doesn’t count as well.
