The 2020 Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.
The contest, slated for Aug. 6, will now reportedly be held as part of 2021’s Hall of Fame enshrinement weekend. The 2020 enshrinement ceremony, which was planned for Aug. 8, will also take place next year.
This is the first NFL event to be canceled due to the virus.
Dallas has won 17 of the 32 games played between the two, including a victory in Super Bowl XXX. The Steelers claimed the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowls X and XIII.
